Maze Book of Me

Hot on the heels of me thinking that my mini book skills aren't up to scratch I decided to make a Maze Book! Glutton for mini embellishment punishment, obviously. I do love the folding, cutting and sticking that goes into a Maze Book though, so I enjoyed putting this together.

This one I've made to try and get some of my baby / childhood pictures scrapped before my Baby arrives and I end up just scrapping him instead.

I've had to take the photos with a cushion on my lap as I'm stuck to the sofa today with my oversized hippo feet up on a stool. They aren't happy tootsies today. :(



I've used 4 Heures 37 papers for the covers and Echo Park for the insides. I've not written on the tags yet, there are a couple of pictures that I want to ask my parents about first, then I can do some more journalling. There's plenty of slots of I want to add more as things occur to me.

I used to be cute! What happened?! I'm playing with my toy helicopter, although I always called it a "helicopterdopter". I think that butterfly may need some work, it's a bit plain.

Stamping and ProMarkering fun. I don't do much of that, but yesterday I realised that I do have some bird stamps and thought I should include them in the Kit.

In the swimming pool on the last day of a holiday in Spain. I swallowed too much pool water and spent the entire flight home being sick. It wasn't the greatest experience.

Retreat Beer Mat Mini Book

I honestly don't know why I bother with Mini Books. I can never seem to make them look as they do in my head. Perhaps it's because I haven't the knack to use tiny embellishments well or creatively. Anything under an 8x8 seems to go a bit squiffy.

But I have all these beer mats to use and I do enjoy covering them, even if filling them up is a little beyond me. So, I used the Counterfeit Kit to make it, hoping that the manufacturer mixing might help me. I don't think it did and I'm pretty sure I could do better than this, but I'm not sure I really know where I'm going wrong.

Perhaps I could do with a gadget that punches holes in chipboard so I don't have to poke holes with a compass! Occasionally I think about getting eyelet setters, Big Bites and things like that, but so far I've avoided the serious tools.

Ugh. I'm moaning. I blame the bad night of no sleep thanks to the baby kicking!

One of the handmade flowers from a Quirky Kit that I've been stroking for ages. I put it in my Counterfeit in an attempt to use it up, and I have. :) There's still another one left for stroking!

The vase of daffodills that was on our table when we went to our Retreat in March. There was a box of Milk Tray as well, but we ate that! Jen took the picture, I can't put pictures together like she can.

First attempt at using my Counterfeit Kit to make a layout. I'm fairly happy with it as it's not something I would normally do, the mixing up of so many manufacturers.

Santa

Made this for our inter-team mojo jar challenge. I wasn't doing them whilst I was mojoless, but now it's back and I'm playing again! My challenge was to make my own embellies, so I've made some buttons from matching papers and Glossy Accents.

These were my third attempt. The first ones were destroyed when I put my diary down on them whilst they were drying and the second batch were ruined when I put my ribbon jar lid down on them. I really am hopeless at remembering I have GA drying.

My DH rescued this third batch by hiding them from me!

Oh, and this LO is also for Susi, who says I scrap my Dad more than I scrap my Husband... which is probably true because Daddy poses when a camera is pointed at him and John doesn't!

The Great Project 12 Catch-Up

My mojo has come back and I've finished off the Project 12s from last year. I have also done November, but appear to have forgotten to photograph it!

So little happened in September that I chose to use only pcitures of Hannah's wedding. That was the month that I lost my mojo and suffered from morning sickness the whole time. :(

October covers a haircut, a trip to Norwich to see Marina and the Diamonds, a lucky book find at Oxfam and our fabulous Angry Bird pumpkin. I used the wonderful flocked Halloween papers by My Mind's Eye.

December covers my brthday and Christmas, including a trip to Bath on the 27th. I've used leftovers from a BoBunny Christmas Album kit.

Creative Craft World Challenge

This time the Creative Craft World challenge was for black, white and silver. I thought that would count me out, as I didn't think I had any silver, but it's amazing what you can do with acrylic paint, glossy accents and silver Pixee Stix!

My mother at the Camera Obscura in 2006 and John in 2010. I didn't quite get John standing in the same place, but it's close enough!

Ex-yellow BoBunny chipboard swirls, jazzed up with paint, GA and Pink Paislee's Pixee Stix. I've never tried that technique before and now I want to sprinkle glitter on all my chipboard!

Twisted Sketches #33

This week the Twist was "envelope", so I made one and put my steam train tickets in it. Turns out I'm not good at making envelopes.

The main picture is our Third Class compartment before we were bumped up to First. See how how happy Melman is! Everyone should take a giraffe on their voyages.

Mystery Kit and Pre-Crop

Can now put up the two UKS Cyber Crop layouts. This first one is for the Mystery Kit, lots of black and white Rusty Pickle papers and some red cardstock. Have to say I wasn't really happy with the kit. All the inspiration I was getting was telling me to colour the papers in, which is illegal under CC rules! The other teams seem to have had alphas included in their kits, ah well, I'm not complaining too much.

So I finally just made this one layout. I'll be using the rest of the papers the way they were designed to be used.

Frost

Another layout for a weekly challenge. For this one we had to follow the sketch, use black/white, stamping and flowers. All bases covered on this one, although I'm not that keen on the result. I was able to use some of my Teamie Sue's flowers. Luckily she'd made them from the same BoBunny papers that I was using on this layout! They actually look deliberate, which is nice!
