My plan for the Retreat this year was to only take offcuts of my old papers, do a bit of pre-Retreat planning, add some embellies and create my own mini kits. It worked to a certain extent. I did get bits used up, but between the planning and executing stages I changed my mind about how I wanted things to come together. Unfortunately, by that point, all my stuff was at home and I was in deepest, darkest Olney! Never mind!Two wedding layouts using MME - Love Me Do.
I prepped the butterfly at home using Faded Jeans ink, Faded Jeans stickles and GA. I then buggered up the layout by using my new Chipped Sapphire ink on the title after I'd stuck it down. I managed to ink the alpha, the paper, the butterfly AND the photo.Luckily, I've not played with the photos so it doesn't show up too badly! Actually, neither of these came together exactly as I'd hoped.
This week the Scrap Map challenge is on a love theme, so I have chosen to scrap my wedding. As you can see, we had a big guest list... :)
I've used some of the Penny Lane that I used in my wedding album (which still needs to be photographed and uploaded, must get round to that), distressed some coredinations and used a whole piece of lace cardstock (thank you, Sarah!) without cutting it up! *gulp*The thickers were dull, so I stickled them a couple of times, they look a lot goldier in real life.
Here's the layout that I made for the Saturday Sketch on the Scrap, Paper, Scissors Blog. I made a special effort in taking the photo... outside on one of John's small easels!
My parents, with their granny-grabbers, go blackberry picking. I should have been blackberry picking, but instead I took a lot of close up photos of interesting things in the hedgerows.I've been trying to use the old stash to thin it out and get myself some space in my paper box. I can't break out of that box, I don't have the room! So I used my final full sheet of the gorgeous Wild Saffron.
Two of the butterflies have been painted and the other has been Distress inked. They've all been Stickled.
This week was a layout for Sketchy Thursdays and for Who's That Girl. You should be able to read from the picture what my Right Now points are!
I've come to realise that I don't have many storage spaces for my 12x12s so I've decided to make a set of 8x8s as I actually have a spare album for them! Besides, I'm still having a good time stroking my October Afternoon Thrift Shop (yum yum)
Obviously, however, I'm still taking pictures of my layouts perched on the radiator.
Here I am in Niagara on the "Journey Behind the Falls" tour in 2006. I've even found my entry ticket to include on the layout. Hoarding everything does finally pay off!
No patterned paper in sight and yet this took ages and used so many different supplies. I've taken to writing what I've used on the backs of layouts so I can remember what came from where. I might not have enough supplies to stock a shop like some of my friends (who know who you are...), but I'm getting more items now from more places and I want to be able to recall which bit came from where!The tag says "A roaring watery kind of noise" which is a line from Red Dwarf. Bonus cyber cookies if you can tell me which episode it's from! Anyway, it sure was roaring and watery and I needed that fetching yellow mac.
