Melman at the London Eye

I have a new laptop, it doesn't have Paint Shop Pro on it yet and if I can't find the disk it never will! Anyway, I now have to edit my layouts using Paint (which is a lot funkier on Windows 7 than on my old laptop), Picasa and Picnik. I think that will probably do for now.


This week the challenge was to use white space, one photo and bling. Used my new Rusty Hinge distress ink as well, which works beautifully on giraffes.

Road Trip... again!

Mummy LO & Daddy LO!

Last year we parked outside the airfield at Duxford to watch the Flying Legends fly over. I took this picture of Mummy sitting in the car, but ended up with a nice picture of grasses - still, it does look a bit arty, so I've used it.



The jouralling on this should be readable!

Saguaro National Monument

My father doing an impression of a Saguaro Cactus. I didn't post my last Saguaro layout, so, in the spirit of catching up, here it is:


Not a great picture, sadly, but you can see me doing my own impression. It was quite a popular spot, a lady in a car in front of us stopped and did the exact same thing. My inspiration for this came from this layout* that I saw before I went to America.

Just for the Donuts!

Thought I could multitask today by doing another 6x12, collecting some extra donuts and adding to my Road Trip album.


So I've picked up donuts for small embellishment, something to do with time and making a journalling block. Made from Crate Paper: Static and I really seem to be going through a phase of stitching swirls onto everything I do. I won't have time for that this weekend at the Cyber Crop. I'll have to leave gaps and stitch onto them later.

Cowboy!

Another Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge done. This one was to do a boy-themed layout, so I chose this "dead" Cowboy from Tombstone, Arizona. I've semi-scraplifted this layout by Scrap, Paper, Scissors.

I've tidied up all my stash over the past couple of days, so I'm trying to use up bits that I had tucked away and had pretty much forgotten about. So, ribbon, brads and random alphas.

Jacob Lake

On our third night in America my dad and I stayed in this cabin in Jacob Lake. I include the link for the sake of interest only. The website is quite excellent and promises all sorts of joys. The reality wasn't so much fun. I'm not going to be doing layouts of the interior of this place, particularly not the dodgy heating system with wires hanging out, or the stained sinks in the bedrooms, or the odd toilet/shower/corridor thing between the two rooms. You just have to imagine them for yourself. Nor did I take a picture of the abrupt staff member who dealt with us when we arrived.

The location was fine, close enough to the North Rim of Grand Canyon to get there and back in an afternoon and at night the stars are pretty amazing. I went for the cookies, but in the end I just bought a trilobite, so I guess that would be another point in it's favour.

The papers are Crate Paper - Static, apart from the squirrel, which is part of their Lemongrass range. One of the Jacob Lake Inn logos is a squirrel, so I had to include him! The journalling reads, "Little Cabin in the Big Wood's. Laura's Pa!" I was always fond of Little House on the Prairie as a kid because of Laura and how she had such a wonderful father, just like I do. So this picture is of my Pa and a Little House in Big Woods!

Odd

My entry for the Scrummy Stash Cafe this week. Had a class to follow this time, I didn't have all the bits, so a lot of this is making it up as I go along!



I've mainly used Crate Paper, with a little bit of Scenic Route and some lace cardstock.

Carriage

The challenge this week at the Scrummy Stash Cafe was to scrap your favourite artist/band/song. I wanted to scrap Counting Crows and luckily I was able to do so by using their song Carriage! Yay! Still filling up my USA album and getting challenges done at the same time.

Picture taken in Tombstone, this was our carriage tour guide. I loved Tombstone, it was such fun and I wish we'd had longer there. We only went there as an afterthought.

Meteor Crater

Made for the latest Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge. I've been wanting to practice doodling, so this was a good chance to do that.

Used Crate Paper stuff and some Thickers.
