A bit late in putting this one up, and I haven't done Twist #56 yet and #57 will be up today! Still, the twist was to use Flags, so I made some banners out of ribbon and came up with this:
The photos are all old shots of me, various quality, especially that one in the middle of my 7th Birthday!Once again, I've used Jo's papers. Thanks Jo! These are all K&Co. paper snob in me wants to know what they're called and I think they may be Mira, but I'm not sure.
I do keep making layouts for challenges and never seem to make them just for myself. The Paperclipping Roundtable seems to think that this can sometimes be bad for your personal creativity, so I've made up a few that aren't sketch based. I'm also loving 8.5 x 11 as a size at the moment, not that I have any albums of this size, I just like the rectangularliness of it.This first one is Melman at Risby Barns in April. John took the shot of me standing by this giraffe print, Puppet on hand, looking silly. Not one person looked as us and the cafe was packed. Oh well, so much for being embarrassed.
I bought a piece of Three Bugs paper on purpose as it had giraffe and lion strips on it. I've already used the Lion strips. I took some elephant pictures earlier this month, so now I have to keep hold of the elephant strips! First use of my new giraffe stamp.This next one is another of my old pictures from the hot air ballooning days. This was taken on a trip to France, we'd landed in Farmer Lambert's field and they invited us it for coffee and a drink (it was about 10am, time for a Mirabel).
I was penpals with the girl in green for a while. The farmer kept his guns in the downstairs toilet and the fly papers were so full of flies that they were fighting to get a leg on. Good fun had by all. :)
Getting at the last minute with this one, although I made it last week. Forgot all about it in my layout tidying session and filed it away. These are a couple of the pictures my father took as slides way back in my childhood and as recently had made up into digital copies so they can be printed off as 'normal' photos.
This layout proves that there was a time when I was able to run races, win them and wear leotards. Those days, however, are looong gone!Have started using Glossy Accents more now that I'm figuring out how to use. There's a pleat in the strip across the bottom and I've GA'd the flower element and stuck it on for height. Should've taken a close up of it as it looks a lot better in real life.
Couple of posts today for Sketchy Thursdays. This first one is a Second Chance challenge. It didn't come together exactly as I'd hoped. My pens bled a bit more than I was expecting them to and the doodling isn't that doodled. Ah well.
This is my 13th birthday party. I'm the one in the dodgy stripey jumper, Alice band and parrot ear-rings. You might not be able to make it out, but the cake was a butterfly - hence the butterfly paper and punched butterflies.Have also included some hidden journalling for our inter-team mojo challenge this month.
Bonus embellishment! I took this picture outside and ended up with this lovely Ladybug. :)
The Twist this week is "Pattern", so I've gone for very patterned paper and cutting the patterns from the papers.
My father is still busy getting fresh digital copies of his old negatives, so I'm able to scrap my birthdays-gone-by. These are all cakes from my early teens and surprisingly, the shapes were all made by my father. I guess that he ate all the offcuts... I've never asked!Overuse of my new mini butterfly and mini flower punches. After I borrowed Teamie Sue's on our retreat last month I've been after a mini butterfly and now I use it all the time. Too cute!Also, I'm being published! No idea when, but when I am I'll pop the layout up here on my Blog.
This month I had one of Sue's and her challenge was a Pencil Lines sketch. Here's the result:
An old picture of my mother and I in Spain. I want to say this is El Torkel, but I might be wrong. It also looks like a great place for carbonate geology, but I didn't care about that back then! Possibly I'm sitting on shells and corals... oh well.I tried to match the papers to the colours in the picture and the flowers match the outfits that my mum an I are wearing. I loved that garish stripey jumper and though you can't see it in this picture, I'm also wearing bright red shoes and neon pink socks! Oh yes!
The journalling explains that I took the pictures of Winchester cathedral whilst I was at University in the days before digital cameras. My teeny camera couldn't handle the whole front elevation in one shot, so I had to attempt to piece it together when the pictures came back.The photo has spent most of its life living in a clip frame with lots of my other pictures being shipped from place to place. I eventually decided that I was a bit too grown up for photo montages and since then it was just in a box. However, now I have scrapping to give those pictures a second life.
