Party Time yet?

The challenge on UKS this week was to scrap the preparation or aftermath of a celebration. Well, I never take before or afters of parties / celebrations so I had to think outside the old box for this one. One day we'll be having two housewarming parties, so I guess we're currently in a very lengthy party preparation at the moment.

This is my layout:

Also have included pink, minimal journalling and used one of the sketches.

Colour Challenge - 3

For this challenge we had to spin the colour wheel and base the layout on the colours that appeared. This is my layout:

I took a screen capture of the colours that appeared - and forgot to save them. I promise that they were pinky / greeny / and bright blue.

Colour Challenge - 1

Some of my UKS teamies are doing Shimelle's colour challenge and whether or not I do all of them remains to be seen - but this is the first one. Scrapbook your favourite colour.

Well, my favourite colour is purple, but it doesn't suit me as a colour to wear, although sometimes I just can't help it and I can never find decent paper scrapping supplies in that colour, so I never use it.

But I do have a nice digi kit in purples, Vicki Parker's Vineyard.

Forde Abbey Fountain

This weeks UKS Challenge:

Had to use the colour emerald, bling, poetry and movement. Obviously I can't make a movable digital layout, so I chose a picture featuring movement - a fountain.

Park Guell

Had to go digi again this week for the UKS Weekly Challenge. It's just easier like this, what with the clutter everywhere and no space to do anything crafty.

Me, on my birthday in Barcelona last year.

Caving

Another layout for a UKS weekly challenge. I've used a picture from my trip to Carreg Cennen Castle in Wales at the weekend. There was a small cave underneath the castle and right at the end of the passage was this tiny pool of water.

Earth Tones - done
Water Theme - done
Book Title - done
I couldn't really do hidden journalling on a digital layout, so I had to leave that part out.

Patches

A digitalfor the current UKS weekly challenge:

Stamping, random alphas in the title, contrasting colours and 1 of something (a flower). All done.

I took this picture deliberately so I could eventually scrap it, forward planning! ;)

Snap & Scrap

A few days ago I joined up with Snap & Scrap so I'd have somewhere to play with my digi layouts and learn some new skills. Sadly, two days after joining they announce that they're closing. :( Anyway, here's a bunch of digitals that I did for Challenges over there:

My second attempt at using a pre-made digi-template. An odd technique, but fun in its own way.

This one was a colour challenge, so I tried to use as many of my own home-made bits and pieces as I could. Throwing in some old brushes for good measure.

Mummy & Me!

Made this for a weekly challenge:

Create a LO either in black and white or a using a rainbow of colour
Create a LO that celebrates womanhood - My mother and me!
Use at least one distressing technique - distressed papers
Use 5 of something on your LO - five black flowers

I don't have many rainbow papers, so I went the black and white route. That led me to go down the digi route. Not to mention the fact that I'm trying to study a lot more at the moment, that also makes digi-ing a lot easier than getting all my scraps out over my textbooks.

Couple More Baby-Digis

Getting out the papers is just more trouble than it's worth at times, so I turn to the digitals instead. I still haven't managed to get real copies of my "baby" pictures, must get on with that! Anyway, in the meantime, I'm very happy to digi them.

Baby Laura!

My father has been busy scanning slides of me as a baby / toddler / young person. At the moment I only have them as digital copies, so I've started going a little crazy with the digi layouts of them!

Using this one as this weeks weekly challenge. It was supposed to have a minibook attached, but I've lost my paper layout mojo so far this week, so I went digi. I'm admiring my estate at Longleat!

We used to "budgie-sit" for a family around the corner. Eventually we kept the budgie full-time and finally it lived out its days with my Grandma. The budgie was called Joey, but, as you can see from this picture, it's clearly a girl!

Digitals from the Cyber Crop

I didn't do all my layouts as paper ones, there just wasn't the time (or the Bazzill!), so here's some of the digis that I made:

Katie Pertiet's Challenge using some of her Little Forest Friends papers. John and I before the party last Christmas.

Wild Child by Vicki for Scrap 'n Art. John and I at the retreat in Bath last year.

Down by the Lily Pond by Mel's Lightbulb Moments. Willow Beach, Arizona.

Guilty!

Our pre-crop challenge yesterday was to finger-print our families. Well, there's just me and John in this household, so it wasn't a huge challenge! I did get a nice picture of him all covered in charcoal, which I thought would make a fab layout.
